About Glen Rose, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Glen Rose is a small city located in Somervell County, and it also serves as the county seat. Approximately 2,500 people call this city home. Glen Rose is situated about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth and is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67 and Texas State Highway 144. Glen Rose was founded in 1849, and throughout the 20th century, people were attracted to the area because of its numerous mineral springs. The area was also popular during Prohibition, and since it served as a prominent moonshining center, Glen Rose has often been called “the whiskey woods capital of Texas.”

Glen Rose is home to several unique attractions that both visitors and residents might enjoy. Dinosaur Valley State Park is located just outside of Glen Rose, and it features a large number of fossilized dinosaur footprints within the bed of the Paluxy River. This park is a top tourist attraction, and located nearby is the Creation Evidence Museum which attempts to supply evidence for creationism. The Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is also located here, and this 1,800-acre wildlife preserve features a variety of different animal species.

Whether you live in Glen Rose or are just passing through, it is important to prepare for any weather conditions you might experience. Summers in Glen Rose will see extreme weather, including hot temperatures that can easily reach 100 degrees. Super cell thunderstorms are common in this part of Texas, so it is important that residents have a reliable air conditioning unit to keep indoor temperatures comfortable when severe weather strikes.

The winter months make the area popular for snowbirds, as daily highs average in the high-50s or low-60s. However, cold fronts do move into the area and can bring freezing conditions – possibly even snowfall.  Therefore, you will want to talk to your local HVAC technician about furnace or heat pump systems that can keep your home safe when frigid conditions move into the area.
